So far, no word on how Apple will break out the new iPad line's models, and where GPS capability fits into the picture. Apple created a confusing situation by including an AGPS chip in the iPad 2's Wi-Fi + 3G model, but not in the Wi-Fi-only model. I suspect Apple will follow a similar path when it intros the iPad 3 (or will it be the iPad 2S?) in March. Apple engineers have consistently stuck with the belief that GPS is not useful - especially with apps such as navigation apps, which download maps and location information on-the-fly - unless a device can always be connected by the cellular network (3G) when the user is out of reach of Wi-Fi.
