Car Rentals with Vouchers/Certificates
« on: March 11, 2012, 03:00:24 AM »
I have a couple Avis $100 Certificates I'd like to use for my next rental.  Is there a way to put it on the Credit Card so insurance is covered and than later on switching them and paying them with the certificates?

make a reservation, put the coupon # in the remarks, and give them in when you return the car. If the say that it wasn't on the rental, say look at the original reservation. Btw why didnt yoou post this in the Avis master thread?

+1
I have rented with coupons before, and made sure the coupon #'s were entered, and gave in the coupons upon return. - Rented with AMEX with premium rental insurance. Never had a problem (but never had to make an insurance claim)

if you would need to make a claim, dont give in the coupons, its not worthwhile...

i have a reservation with hertz in brooklyn for a week rental a fullsize for $200, i have someone offering me 7 free rental day cupons for the same price $200 what are the benefits of a paid rental over free cupon rentals?
do i get corporate benefits like free 2nd driver with a free cupon rentall?

A few things i know is:
A. Free rentals i can get a premium size
B. Paid rentals i get pointz
C. If something happenes to my car with a cupon, i would have to pay for it full price in order for my CC insurance to cover it

looking for more reasons why one would be better then the other.

if they do have premiums to reserve does that mean that lav davka im guaranteed a premium?

its $200 after all cupons already and im not looking to pay more for a upgrade (maybe the $20 trick ;) ) is it more worth to pay rather then a premium for a week?

If u reserve a premium than they have to give it to u (although they might upgrade to suv but should be able to switch at airport )
