Well, when I opened it I was told I would get the miles, confirmed via SM, was really counting on it, long time customer.....
Any ideas for me?

When I had this issue i looked through the whole forum and found one person who had good advice. Can't find it now but he basically said that since it used to be a regular one pass card and now it is a one pass plus, you are essentially signing up for a different card which makes it that you never took advantage of this offer. i don't know which card you got but you may be able to use the same argument and say that now it is a United card or whatever they call it unlike what it was when you last had the card. Just a thought

I tried again and was shot down.
The CS rep. suggested I write to the "Correspondence" dept. via snail mail. Though, she said I probably don't stand a chance.
Do you guys think it's worth a try or is it time to give up?

I applied for the Chase Continental OnePass MC on the last day of its existence and was approved for 30K bonus miles for using it once and having an approved user use it once. I then sent a secure message asking for another 20K and was approved for that as well.

But yesterday I received in the mail a letter saying that the T&C say this offer is only valid for new card holders and since I've had it in the past and already received this promotion I'm ineligible for any bonus. I can't be the first person to have this problem. What do I do now to make sure I get my 50K bonus?

This is exactly why I opened the thread, and frankly, it doesn't look good.
I've tried Customer Service twice and Secure Message to no avail - so far.

So.....after numerous Sm's and numerous calls to CS - and getting shot down each and every time, one nice CS lady said she'd escalate it to her superiors.
Today both my wife and I (who made the same mistake and re-applied for the CO card with our old FF number) received letters in the mail.
My wife's letter stated - once again - that since she took advantage of this offer in the past etc., she isn't eligible for any sign-up points whatsoever.
Yet, MY letter stated that I should be getting 30k miles + 20k for getting matched!
Now for the two strange things.
1 - Both our letters were signed by the same woman! How is it that she (accurately) realized that my wife already had this card, yet didn't realize that about me?
2 - I checked my account and only the bonus 20k points posted and not the base 30k. Even if the 30k will get posted soon (I'm hoping), it's still odd that the 20k got posted before the 30k.

At least for me, not my wife. And so far only 20k not the full 50k, but we'll see what happens.
