Adding an AU doesn't "hit" the CR the same way as applying for a new card.

true, but people have still been trying to avoid it by calling in their AU's. Any idea how this idea (i.e. using your own SSN when you are the primary) would look on a CR?

it won't show up cuz the name and ssn don't match.

They usually expedite cards for free.

I just ordered 3 AU's for one of my Amex cards, and did one of them in MY OWN name and SSN, and they sent it! (In other words, the same person that owns the primary card - which is me - was able to order an AU card for me, and it has a different card number)

I hope this doesn't cause any problems.

when I order AUs online and they ask for an address, do they want the addtnl card-members address, or do they want the address the card should be sent to?

They do want the AU address because they think AU is using the card, however in your case you prob want the card for SBS or whatever so tell them yours.

Either way they mail the card to the main card holders address
