I did some basic research and can't seem anything.

Is there a place where they have a guide about all the different single serving coffee machines?

I would say there are three hot items now on the market.

1. K-kup machines.
2. Nespresso
3. Verismo.

Any one can care to share some insights on them?

Do they all take different coffee pods?

Yes. K -CUPS are the most widely available. You can buy them everywhere.  That's one plus to the Keurigs.

I haven't tasted the Verisimo yet but the machine looks nice.  Right now it's available at only a few places.

I prefer the taste of the Nespresso but again haven't tasted the Starbucks machine yet. If its anything like their coffee though I probably would pass.

keurig also has another type called vue, not sure why it sconsidered better, but it has different pods than the reg one
also if u are looking for a cheaper espresso machine, u may want to look for something otber than an automatic one, try looking for a classic espresso machine, u can get a cheap one at walmart or ect

I originally had a 12 cup Gevallia drip machine & the Aeropress and eventually upgraded to a Keurig B40  and a Red DeLonghi Kmix 15 Bars Pump Espresso Maker.
I use the keurig 85% of the time as its quick and easy and use the espresso machine for occasions.

Update:

I received Nespresso U with the milk frothing pitcher on Wednesday and I have to say I'm very impressed. If anyone is interested in a review or has any questions I'll be happy to answer them.

The price went up $95 to $229 since Sunday but you can still get the Essenza for $149 on Amazon.
