I know your Location says NY, but it would help if you would confirm it.Additionally there is a thread about Jersey Care, I'm not sure if that would help you.
I know they say it can take 3 months to get onto JerseyCare but can be faster. Took us only a few weeks (about 3-4). So it def can't hurt to send in the application asap
If we do send it now and they deny us ( because she officially has insurance until August), do we have an opportunity to review it with an actual person, or do we again need to reapply closer to August? My wife has tried to get in touch with JerseyCare but can never get someone who can help, even going to the location, they could not offer any insight. I would love to believe that they have some kind of expedited processing for someone in a situation like ours, especially if it is going to be the end of the pregnancy.
Don't know about NJ, but in NY, when you apply, coverage starts from when you apply (or even up to 3 months before the date you apply). And in the meantime, you can explain that you're Medicaid pending.
Any ideas of what i can do as they say i make $300 more than the allowed amount?
You make more than the limit for regular Medicaid for your family, or for a pregnant woman/prenatal care? That's usually a higher limit.
go down to hooper ave they will process it quicker.
Generally there is absolutely no problem having JC as a secondary insurance. If you are above the income limit there are plans through the state where you pay a little towards the insurance.-for kids/pregsExplain why they said its necessary for her insurance to expire first, is it because the state plans have a no secondary rule? If yes there may be a look back period... if you explain the situation better we can learn and possibly help! Also, if wife under 26 she eligible to stay on parents plan.
Are you interested in staying on your current coverage if you only pay for it same price as school?
