Actually it is prob better for small business.

If the price ios cheaper online there is an inventive, but if it is the same it would be better to got to the store try it on, walk around to see wht else you need...

everyone keeps saying this and I just don't get it. Please explain
Every ebay seller is going to have to remit form and cash to 50 different states.
You don't see how this will harm anyone?

Didn't realize that was what they were referring to.
Hence my comments
But they have to make an easier way for Sellers to turn over those taxes (maybe create some sort of portal to collect the taxes directly). Also retailers will lose money on Paypal fees on the tax.

which legally you should have been paying anyway
but we all r looking for those loophole's
everyone keeps saying this and I just don't get it. Please explain
1) you would be required to collect sales taxes nationwide from the more than 9,600! (no not 50) tax jurisdictions across the U.S.
2)You also would face the prospect of being audited by out-of-state tax collectors.
ask your accountant how much those would cost u

But everyone would. No one would have an unfair advantage.

Normal B&M stores do not, therefore they would actually have an advantage over internet retailers.

Eh, that's what comes with a biggercustomer base. They could choose to only sell within their state

Doubt that would happen, rather ebay would have to collect on their behalf which is why eBay is against it.

So who's gonna be the first payment processor with fully automated tax collection service? Any way to develop and protect the service?

This law is for sure gonna happen?

Isn't there a chance that it might be somehow changed?

I'm lazy to go through parts of the bill, but from reading this thread, it's clear that nobody read the bill.

It exempts merchants who sell less than a million a year, so not "small"  businesses.
It has a remedy in place for the million jurisdictions issue too.

I don't support it, because I want to pay less. I almost only buy online because of time constraints.

If that's the case I'm sure it will get squashed. These billion dollar companies don't bribe Congressmen for nothing

It exempts 99% of ebay sellers.

Becasue they sell less than $1MM  a year?

I wouldn't say that 99% of eBay sellers sell less than that.

It doesnt take much to sell $1MM
