..true... I tried...
I called PP after i got the cash out of the CVS machine and they said that they can only block the card,
they cannot cancel my account...
Right, so if you're not gonna keep card then block, it starts the cancelling process.

The only way I could talk to a live representative after receiving the card was to activate it, then connect to a representative to cancel it. I still don't even get what the use of the darn thing is.......

I asked them, they say that if someone is getting a tax return, they can get a few days earlier, if they do a direct deposit to active card.

hmm... interesting -- i do direct deposit to my bank within 10 days,
but that's cool to have it straight on the PP card -- "no $$$ traces"...!!....  8)

Tax return money is usually kosher, why would you care about traces?

it's Kosher i keep mine in the bank for a while,
but lower income people like to have no spending traces, so the PP option lets them do that without another $4K in the bank....

And that should answer the Q above of what the purpose of the card is...
Also, apparently some ppl don't have real bank accounts, I guess these are same ppl that don't want spending traces...

I'd guess it's too late to change referral code... I tried Dan's originally, but apparently it didn't go through... (sorry Dan)

If you call their customer service they will add it on. It was a fairly quick call for me, unfortunately there must be a limit on referrals, as any referral code of anyone else's that I provided to them seemed to be non-valid. If anyone has their referral code I will use it, not sure I could use yours if you use mine, but I'd take it either way.

I know I am new, but I did sign up under another random user's referral ID that I  found. I had thought I signed up here way back from another deal conga-line, but just found out otherwise. In any case, if you'd like to start a conga-line of sorts please use my referral ID of 5531717082 and post yours after for the next person to use. Thanks! :)
Tried, but someone used already... They also told me that since I got card in store and not online, that I wouldn't be able to used referral ID anyways... (I guess CVS gets that)

I got my CVS raincheck for paypal card. Went to cvs and put $500 on card and got 2 $25 vouchers. Activated and went to walmart to load by cashier. Did the entire $500. I went online and reported card loss. Thing is, it says that  I have a card ordered- th eperanent one. How do I cancel that one?

After a few days you'll have the ability to cancel the permanent card online.

I cancelled mine but left 2 open with $0 balance to see if there are any benefits to keep open.

I also got 2 permanent cards in mail. Not sure why they sent me because I thought I cancelled them and doesn't match up with the 2 cards I left open...

I just got my permanent Paypal card in the mail, too. Funny because I called and cancelled it the day after I bought and cashed out the temporary card.

How can I cancel before receiving? You can't 'lose' something you never received!

IIRC shortly after they ship it out, you have the option online to "lose" it, even before you receive it.

Same thing happened with me.  I don't have any money on the account so they can't take anything, but wondering f it is actually closed or not.

same here, nothing in the account, but they have ss# and birthdate...
Debating whether to cancel it, or just not activate it.
Another PP/CVS deal may come along - don't want extra accounts hanging around...
