I've been let down by too many of the must haves here on DDF.  These egg rolls better perform!

I had them this summer, I thought that I was just remembering wrong, since they weren't nearly as good as the last time. Now it makes sense. Chai steak was still a winner though.

Those egg rolls are quite good.

we had them -- you have to like hot (temperature) avocado for them to be great. The "candied lamb bacon" and the ribs are fantastic, though...

The dipping sauce is outrageous as well..

We also had the candied beef bacon,  no words to describe how amazing it was.

Beef tinga Flatbread was great as well,  however the sauce was a bit overwhelming and the tomatoes should have been sliced thinner.

The Stracciatella soup was very decent as well.

For the main we shared the Chefs cut steak.  The beefyness was out of control,  and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare.  I had them carve it in the kitchen and serve it along with the bone on a platter. I request some sauces,  they brought out the cabernet,  peppercorn,  and sweet jalapeno sauces.  Each was uniquely delicious,  and complimented the steak really well.

All in all I was extremely impressed and will be looking forward to return here again one day.

Yes -- the waiter suggested the candied beef/lamb bacon. We liked it, but we wouldn't have ordered it without his recommendation.

Have you been to Ditmas? It's an amazing all around great meat/steak restaurant and cocktails place.

Hey all, My wife and I are trying to plan a trip to LA in November, On the first day we want to go to a taping of America's funniest home videos which is taped in manhattan beach. From the wiki I see that the closest restaurant is Chayo Eatery in Torrance. Has anyone eaten there? any opinions? Are there any other places to eat around there?
Also is there a decent breakfast place close to the SLS? I see some Coffee beans around the area, are those good options?

Chayo is supposed to be good, though I've never eaten there myself. Pico Blvd is a 10 minute drive from the SLS and has many breakfast places, though at the same time Coffee Bean is a 5 minute walk and fine also.
