Thanks!
Paying cash rate, no status... It's an expensive stay though.

I want to get a suite, so I would book a regular room for 10k a night and apply a SNA to it and at the same time book a suite for 20k. If the SNA clears, I'll cancel the 20k room, if it doesn't clear, I'll cancel the 10k room.
Any issue double booking with SPG?

So basically they'll pick you up if you're paying cash and not using points?

Slight issue, cancelation deadline is 5 days prior to arrival, so my SNA won't clear by then..

What to do - use 20k for a suite or 10k and hope the SNA clears?

Would suggest asking here and also reading up a bit. Have you emailed them to ask when the planned renovations are supposed to be over? Have you considered Hilton Cairns as an alternative?

Ha! Smart man ;)

If I get a renovated room, I think SM PD > Hilton CNS. Hilton CNS is small and doesn't really look too nice.

If I apply 2 SNAs to a 2 night res, does the system start looking for suite availability 5 days before check in or 4 days?

I want to book a 5 night stay at an SPG property. One of the 5 nights is sold out.

Is there anyway to get them to open up that one night? If yes/no, would status help?
Thank you

You can call the hotel and ask them to open it up - BIG YMMV.

Sometimes you can book another room type for a few more points over the phone, and that room type might be available all 5 nights. That is more likely than scenario A playing out.
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

Thank you for the idea. They'll let me downgrade without a cancelation fee?
