The arrival card is a cash back card. They can't devalue cash,  that's the job of the Obama government, which they've done amazingly well at.

The only thing Barclay can do is reduce the cash back percentage - - Which, of course, is a devaluation,  and can happen.
They can devalue the value of their points just as Citi and Cap1 has done in the past.
Best to redeem them several times per year.

Cap1 actually raised the value of their points as they removed the increments requirement for redemption.

but its still 1CPP.
Love me or hate me. I still love you.

Used to be 1cpp, then they added tiers, then they got rid of tiers on some cards.
Either way point is that anything can be devalued.
The fed actively devalues our dollars daily.

Anything other than a change of date may cause a reprice.

So changing a date from one to another is fine as long as airline stays the same? In this case Lufthansa.

That's officially fine.

Whether a change in airline/routing will ultimately be fine, is an open question, though it's been officially said to cause a reprice.

Changing o/d will definitely cause a reprice.

Date change=Old chart.
Route/Airline change: Unknown/YMMV, to be safe assume new chart.
O/D change=New chart.

The problem with booking an LH award now, is that anything more complicated than a simple NYC-FRA award (e.g. NYC-FRA-BKK in LH and TG F or NYC-FRA-HKG in LH F) is going to require some luck to find the exact routing and airlines in the future.

And to expend 67.5K UA on a simple 8 hour flight ain't my style. I'd much prefer spending 80K and getting twice the amount of time in LH F. But I guess that's the downside to devals.

I'm booking in business with a stopover and open jaw. I guess I'll just have to stick with whatever I book IYH.

But for those without status on UA, wouldnt we would get hit with a change fee as well?
I guess it makes sense to weigh the value of miles saved vs the change fees.
