Dan just posted on DDMS about using Fuel Rewards, but he didn't discuss using FR's the way we have discussed here.

Maybe I'm not thinking about it the right way, but here's an approach I have used:
I earn Fuel Rewards by spending on my Arrival+ MC at S&S. Currently, I get $0.15/gallon for every $100 spent. So, with gas approaching $3.00/gallon, I spend $2000 on my MC to get $3.00/gallon, for 20 gallons. That saves me $60.  I spend ~$30 on GC and liquidating them, so the net savings is only $30.  But I also earn $0.022 per $1.00 spent on my A+MC, so that's $44. The whole process gives me a net return of $74 (minus all the time and effort and worry involved with buying and liquidating the GCs).

Are there better algorithms? This one is pretty labor intensive, and a little risky.

I don't see it as very close. 1.4 is my minimum on b6. I routinely get over 1.5 and thats before the extra % back for having the card. 3% vs 2% adds up. Although if you go by resale value its a bit closer

Otherwise nope. just enjoy. may be ending at the end of this month so stack up beforehand

I see your point now.  For some reason, I had in my head that B6 was worth $0.01.  But you’re right, of course, worth at least $0.014, probably more.  And with 2x, it is as you say, 3 vs 2.  Not sure I will get to Mosaic this west.   In any case, thanks for the advice — I’m glad I asked!
