Best Credit Cards At This Time
« on: February 19, 2014, 06:02:19 PM »
This is the thread I was looking for, but couldn't find.

Dan's fabulous Comparison Chart lists figures, but not his invaluable opinions.
A changing wiki at the top could list a summary of the best and don't miss out on, current CC deals with ending dates.
Members could then ask our questions (which cards or combos are best given situation a, b,or c) in one place.
The other threads are for general info or for specific CCs, not the best current ones.
The DD Banner lists current deals, but not the whole picture.

If this exists already, please refer me and mod out this post.  TY.

Hands down is the Citi Exec. It is all the buzz today.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

We only have 1 CC, our credit just jumped 50-100 points each to high 700s and low 800s.  I want to do a 3BM (or 4BM?) ASAP for each of us before something changes.  How often are Dan's CC roundups?

Ok, where's the spoon?
My head is whirling from all the wikis and threads that I have read.
Might today be the last day for the SouthWest Preferred?  Citi AA?
Which are the best offers at this time on CCs (and then I need to put them into 3BMs or 4BMs for each spouse).  Suggestions?
Xlnt credit. No Ccs other than Dept stores.

I don't think you'll get a very high limit for any of your cards if you haven't had any real cards before hand. Making it harder to reach spending thresholds...

I hear you.  It may be a waste of a pull, then to even try for the Citi AA with its 10k threshold!

Why? All you need is a 3.34k cl. You have 3 month to reach the threshold.

Based on your comments it sounds like we should I should still try for the Citi AA.
Other than the SouthWest Preferred (if I can still get it tomorrow), any other hands down ones to go for?

If you are already applying for a Southwest card, you definitely should apply for other Chase cards at the same time. Freedom, Sapphire Preferred are the most popular and great for earning UR.

Definitely don't base your decision on my comments; I'm no expert. I was just bringing to light that you don't need such a high cl in I order to reach threshold.

Really depends on your needs and what is best for you
What kind of card benefits you would prefer, Specific Airline miles, amex miles, UR miles, cash back, SW points, Hyatt points, etc
And they keep changing so you just need to keep your ears open on Dans latest roundups

I was going to save this q so as not to 'crosspost', but as long as you raised it.... I was really looking into the Ink Plus Business now, then switching later to Ink Bold Business after the 3 months.  I was planning on Sapphire, Freedom and Ink Plus Business, but then the SW came into the picture.  We actually don't have high expenses so I will be studying the threads.  Meanwhile, if the SW is a must-not-pass-up-offer I need to decide tonight which 2 of the 3 are best to go with it.

Thoughts?

Flights to E-Y and cross-country US.  Any airline, but business would be nice.  Hotels every once in a while, not picky yet.   Nothing special in mind.
I need to just jump in with something now and become picky next round or so.
Therefore, I'm looking for best not-to-pass-up-offers now.

Earlier this morning.
4BM. SM for reconsideration?

But then you're maxing out you're card for the first three months that you have it. IMO that is not a good idea.
