Frum Couple looking for a place to stay in LA

Its not ridiculous.. tens if not hundreds of people love to have guest in their guest house.. maybe it doesnt belong in trip reports though "do a ddf'er a favor" maybe

+1.. Definitely not ridiculous at all.

I've stayed at other DDF's houses before for a night and even for Shabbat, and I have to say, each time was great. Shared stories, experiences, etc. I would do it again or possibly even host others. Sometimes you want to get away and a hotel isn't always the best option.

Totally agree, but this is a brand spanking new member, so it's a different ballgame.

As for the OP: if you know anyone whatsoever in Hancock Park they can probably help you out. Otherwise, try posting in the community email called Hillygram (by emailing moshe@hillygram.com) to see if anyone has a place.

I personally have friends that live in LA and I was there with my wife. I only used a friend that had a backhouse for two nights (shabbos) because it would have been to difficult to stay in a hotel. The other five nights I stayed in hotels. When I was at my friends they mentioned how awesome it was that I didnt just mooch of the back houses and how annoying it was that people just come and ask to park for a week or two and it has become expected that the owners just do it for everyone. They are usually to nice to ever actually say no, but I know they feel like it is getting out of hand.
