I asked to downgrade to the arrival but they only offered to the no fee us air card. I got the AF back. How can I see online if it really downgraded ?

So far I haven't heard any reports of someone recently opening, downgrading and then reapplying successfully.

It will show up as "closed" in a day to two.

Why would it show closed ? I downgraded it to the no fee us card. I did it already over a month ago. Its still open

All I asked is how do I see the difference between the regular us card and the no fee us card

Oh. I thought you close the US Air. They might look exactly the same on the onlien account. Call them and confirm.

card is in the mail annual fee was billed to my acc already cycle will close on the 10th. the new face of barclay

they are trying to make sure you will get the bonus miles after the 60 day window

i spoke to multiple reps about getting AF refunded, no luck
i wanted to downgrade the card so i could churn another one, but was told that theres no option anymore to downgrade.
i applied for a new card, but was automatically rejected on the basis that im an existing cardholder
the reps keep notes of each call, so that limits HUCA
if i want to churn, my only option now is to close the card and reapply pretty quickly before the card is history.
has anyone had any luck doing that? what should i tell the Recon rep if he asks why i just closed this card, and want it again?

Downgraded today, no problem.

i spoke to an account specialist, they said since i took them up on a 5k bonus for spending 1k, the option to downgrade was removed. and i need to wait for the miles to post, in order to downgrade. so that explains the discrepancies here

I don't see any way that you won't get the bonus points within the 60 day window, if you pay the annual fee and make a purchase right away. Either you'll make it in time to get the points a couple of days after the first statement, but if not you'll get them by the second statement.

Make sure to make a payment now for the annual fee also, it will improve your chances of getting the points to post sooner.
