DDF DO: NYC Edition?

I don't understand why this conversation is going off topic. We want to have a DO to discuss this hobby that we all like and meet other like minded people. I personally have no problem with woman attending but if other members have some sort of issue due to religious matters then I think the fairest thing to do would be for all the confirmed attendees to take a vote .

On another note- do we even have a date for the DO

I think it should be up to Dan to decide whether to let the DO be mixed or not, or whether it should be up to the confirmed attendees to vote.

It should be up to Dan if he were running or even attending the DO which would be great. But if a bunch of us living in the NY area want to meet- why would it be up to the discretion of someone else?

Again- i'm up for it either way whether women come or not- I'm just not blatantly against it.

I mean to say that its up to Dan to decide whether he wants every DO thread to turn into a vote for mixed or not. The fragmentation could kill the DO's. Based on his plus 1, he clearly decided on that issue already.

If, for instance, a female confirms her attendance to a DO, then the people (male or female) that are bothered by such attendance can feel free to abstain from the DO and wait for a DO wherein no female has confirmed attendance.

I agree, but only as long as no one gets uncomfortable if confirmed attendees post that they're out because it's mixed. Otherwise, you'll have DO's that'll turn into dates
