AU's on Old Amex Blue
« on: July 27, 2015, 12:18:49 AM »
I'm a pretty experienced MS'er but a relative newb on the CC in's and outs.

I got shut down on my Old Amex Blue card a couple months ago.  After I finally got around to paying off the balance, I reapplied and got approved.  I successfully got 4 AU's on the card and was hoping for two more, but when I applied for those, Amex sent me a letter saying I had the max AU's on the card.  I called the 1800 number on the back of my card and they told me that was a strange letter to receive and submitted the request for me again.  I got the same letter a week later.

I've seen Dan throw around the 99 AU number, so was wondering if I just have to be patient or if I have to call a specific department.
TIA!

As far as I know on OBC there's a 3 au limit.
I only paid 15% by switching to dansdeals

And business.
Huh? He was talking about personal cards and you made it sound like only business cards get 99 so I corrected you and said even personal.

Thanks for the heads up.  Checked the cardholder agreement and found this under "Annual Membership" in the Fees section:

This fee is on the Rates and Fees Table on page 1 of Part 1. You may have up to 3 additional cards at
no charge

Yes,  it seems that they only allow 3 aus. Kinda odd,  but also odd that the product still exists all together

Well if you're going to say any spend then it would really have to be closer to 4%.  VGC liquidation fees and all.

Well after the costs of purchasing and cashing out, it is more like 4% profit, which was what the OP was saying.
