As I see it, there are 3 options for water bottles for hiking, some that focus on quality, some on convenience. Any opinions about what to get?
1)
Hyradoflask ($29-40) and can also buy a straw cap to make drinking easier. (Dan's favorite)
Pro: Actually keeps water cold for very long time
Con: Would need to carry it in a backpack and still need to keep refill of water in the trunk/cooler/ice
2)
LifeStraw ($33)
Pro: No need to bring water with you, as it can filter water that you come across while hiking
Con: Water won't be cold and would need to carry it in a backpack
3)
CamelBack Backpack ($41) Lots of options, this is just one example.
Pro: Can be worn and has a slot for your phone, so no need to carry anything else and can hold ice to keep water cold for some time
Con: Most expensive option, water won't stay cold for as long as Hydroflask and still need to keep refill of water in the trunk/cooler/ice
