Chase doesn't write the miles on the app page. (They don't on the BA either)
As long as you go from the page offering 30K+$50 you will get that. But take a printscreen as a precaution as always.

after applying for the card with Dan's link, today I see that I was charged the annual fee!!! what do I do now?

Call. The United app clearly says the fee is waived.

Good point, it almost seems intentionally misleading, which is what I'd say...

Thanx for the help, guys. i sent them a SM, if i don't hear the answer i want, i'll call. BTW i asked to be upgraded to the 50k offer, and it looks like i might get it after i spend $50 so i can give back the credit (which i never got, btw) and then i'll get the 50k offer. does the 50k offer also have first year free?
it seems that because i had to go thru 2 reconsiderations that the details of my app got lost....

I called, and the guy told me that the way a waived annual fee works is that first you need to pay it and then in a few months they credit it back. has anyone ever heard of this?

He also said that i'm gonna be getting the $50 credit in the form of a coupon for united, which will be coming in the mail. BTW i was able to upgrade this card to the 50k offer, the extra 20k are already in my account, but the original 30 never made it yet...

it actually happened a couple weeks ago. i sent them an SM that i heard there was a different offer, and i'd like them to change my offer to that one. they wrote back that that offer doesn't include the $50 credit, so they need me to verify before they make the change. i sent back that i verify and nothing happened.
today i wrote to them to argue the annual fee, so i wrote that i changed offers from the 30k to the 50k, but BOTH offers had no annual fee for first year, so they wrote back that they just added the extra 20k to my account (and they totally ignored the question about the annual fee!) so...
