United Polaris

They're announcing that it's going to "take off" December 1, 2016. From what I've heard, every international first and business class with automatically be Polaris, but they also say that the first airplane will only be delivered then.

Does anyone know anything more about Polaris?

My preference is to put everyone on the same aisle, so I'd take 6A, 6D, 7A, 7D, 8A, and 8D.  Makes it easier to settle everyone and help kids out if need be.

The seats in alternating rows face differently. You can see it in the diagram. Near each other is assumed better for families.

The ideal is the odd D and F seats because that's the only way you have two people sitting togther

Actually, I don't think that arrangement works at all.  While you may be OK leaving the big kids in A, realize that the parents will actually be on the other side of the divider of the kid they are "helping."  If you had two rows near each other, that may be OK, but if kid in 7D needs help with restroom, parent in 7F needs to go all the way around.  I found it quiet difficult to do anything across the divider, even feed.  BTDT.  If you don't want the 3 year old "alone," a better idea would be  6ADF and 7ADF (or 7ADF and 8ADF), with the 3 year old in let's say 7D, wife in 7F, husband in 6D (or 8D) and other child in 6F (or 8F).  This way you have a parent *near* on one side, and *available to help* on the other side.  Just my two cents.

The divider on the odd rows isn't a big deal at all. Kids can climb over it. Much easier to help a kid from that vantage point in-flight also.

I had the opposite problem.  My kid thought it was hilarious to keep putting the divider up.  It was definitely good that some of the family was on kiddo's aisle.
