+1, especially with the current value of the dollar.
Compare rates, but I would have to guess you would be better off with a US reservation

cheapest, IMHO, is thrifty.com it is $12 a day and that is with their standard insurance (or that might cost an extra $10 per day), with a $500 deductible. If you wanna use your Mastercard World, you get off the deductible but add $12  a day for TP. In Israel, in the event of damage, you pay out and get it back from mastercard. Double check on your specific card to make sure you are covered. Their rates for a week are like $60-70 (not including insurance).It may be total of approx $135. If you rent and have a tourist visa (3 months) stamp in your passport, you do not pay tax (16%).

Avis Preferred is officially entitled to a one category upgrade. You will have to ask for it, may be even demand it, it is Israel, so it's a little YMMV. If you get a nice agent, a double upgrade isn't out of the question. I know Chairman's Club members can sometimes talk their way into a triple, but it's less common than an Israeli apologizing.
