I believe the most prominent psak comes from Rav Moshe. There is controversy whether or not Rav Moshe's psak applies to the more modern shavers which claim they give a "closer shave" .

I believe Rav Moshe's son(s) have spoken about this issue, but I do not have a source about their pask.

Thinking of buying on Amazon the Philips Norelco 1290X.
Anyone has (good) experience with it?

Need to replace the blades of my old philips norelco, and not willing to pay for new blades 90% of the price of my shaver

How much is that on on amazon? I have a brand new one either that or 1280x that I would sell. I have I think 1260x or something and I live it. Ill know exactly which one I have Tom morn. Pm me I'll beat amazons price I hope plus shipping. Where do you live.

On amazon it is about 240 USD. Only issue is that it comes with a jet clean system, which is everything but useful if one travels a lot.

I bought the shaver from BBB. When the blades got dulled, I went back and told them that the blades got dull quicker than I thought they should have, so they gave me a brand new one. It was definitely worth paying full price.

all i returned was the cleaning base and the shaver. No accessories. also it came with like a gift pack which included deodorants, body washes and a nice case so that I kept, plus the refill for the cleaning system. You can easily return it without the base though, I don't even think they looked in the box.
