Amex Credit Re-allocation
« on: June 19, 2011, 05:13:13 PM »
Is there any way to move credit from one AMEX acct to another without generating a credit inquiry(just as in chase)?

I don't think they allow this anymore unless you're opening a new card. Back in the day you could do this online on your own.

They started allowing it again, just give them a call.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

You're right, according to FT there's even an online option (which seems to come and go, I tried looking and didn't find it). If someone is able to access the online option, please post a direct link.

just tried another rep. and she said that she doesn't know why they still ask for your annual income yet it does not pull from your credit.

I've tried several times to get credit off my Blue Cash card and add it to my Starwood Card.  Initially I was told I had to wait until the BC card had been open for 13 months.  Well I just called them back since I passed the 13 month mark, and now I'm told I have to wait for the Starwood Card ALSO to be open 13 months.  I've only had it for about 9.  Think there's any way around this or am I likely stuck for the next 4 months?

Does anyone know if reallocating credit with Amex will result in a hard pull.
They want my income and they (incl. a supervisor) couldn't confirm if there will be a hard pull or not.
