Lounge Guesting
« on: July 15, 2011, 06:34:57 PM »
I've been reading this forum for a while, though I decided to sign up today. One thing I've noticed about FlyerTalk, which I joined 4 weeks ago but have also read for a while is one killer feature. FTers who have lounge access invite those who don't to use the lounge because most lounges allow you to bring a guest. It's something I want to start here at the DansDeals forums. FT sorts lounge guest requests by airline, but as DDForums are smaller I don't think we need that because DDF is smaller.
I will open with the first request.

On 09/04/2011 I'm flying with a friend from ORD-ZRH at 7:15pm on LX. I would appreciate access to a Star Alliance lounge. If you could guest us both, then great. If not I'll still come.
09/04/2011 My friendband I are flying from ZRH-TLV on LX at 10:35pm. I would again appreciate lounge access.

Does the guest need to be on the same flight, or just needs to be flying the same airline?

@lou: depends the lounge, depends the airline.

Generally you would have to both fly the same alliance.

What I usually do, I show them some 10 different cards that would (seem like they) give access, smile and pretend its a given that I enter.

Unless I hit a lady of 50+ it normally works like a charm.

True. Second date was september 5th.
And as another poster said, it applies to anyone flying within same alliance

1. But if you're given a pass, and already have PP for yourself, well you get what I'm saying...

Will they simply hand me a guest pass for flashing *G card?

You get the pass at the check in counter
