Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Yes, because like this I don't need to leave the keyboard. Control-l (or shift-d, depending on my mood) takes me to the address bar, and I just need to type amex and it autofills for me. Then I press enter or shift enter (for a new tab), and I'm there.
but if you bookmarked it you could then make a keyword shortcut for it. So you would potentially only have to type 1 letter in the address bar.

True. But then I'd have to memorize the keyboard shortcut, and I already know amex..... by heart :)

My wife also notes that in order to preempt them giving you a hard time,  tell them that you would like to load $1k on the redcard because you want the 5% off the purchase you are about to make. (helps if you have a cart filled with stuff)

Anyone pay their taxes through Redcard?
I dont know for sure if it would work, but you might be able to have the state or IRS debit from it like a bank account using the account information they give for refunds. It might not work because it might only be for deposits and block debits.

For those of you that have a Redcard for themselves and a spouse, do you load both at the same time? If not do you load both cards (but at different times) or have your spouse do their card?

I've done both cards at one time with 1 CSR.  I usually do 1 card a day.  I'll play it by ear depending on how friendly and relaxed the CSR is.
