beneath them to go after shipped packages.
Several years ago, Microsoft accidentally overpaid some of their recently laid-off employees. They sent out a letter asking them to give back some of the money. The story went viral, and Microsoft retracted their letter. The question is not about whether it's "right" or "wrong". There is no doubt that the "right" thing to do is to give the money back, but once the story got out, Microsoft realized that it's
beneath them to ask for the money back, and felt embarrassed by it, thus retracting their letter.
Price mistakes happen. You don't
have to honor it, (unless you are an airline, where the FAA mafia will force you to honor it or pay a fine.) but sometimes, you need to assess whether you should just "let it go", especially if it's far beneath your dignity to chase after packages.
