Juicer Recommendation For Grapes
« on: April 09, 2022, 11:09:56 PM »
I'm looking for suggestions for an electric juicer that's good at juicing [specifically] grapes.
If you have any experience with any specific one(s) that you recommend or don't recommend, please share.

I'd prefer slow-masticating (AKA "cold press") juicer over a centrifugal one, but would appreciate any input.

I am also not interested in high-end ones. Not looking to spend $250+ on a juicer that I may use only once a year.

TIA!

Update: I bought THIS juicer in WM (was way cheaper than Amz). The juice came out absolutely delicious. Was good enough that I had no leftovers to see how it'd taste as wine. Will try again next year אי"ה.

(HERE is another one that is most likely the same exact machine, just cheaper).

I don't see that by me (I have Prime), nor have I seen it a couple weeks ago. I guess you're special :)

Because I just got my machine and only managed to do the juicing last minute, I didn't have a chance to track quantities.
But a case of grapes in my very rough guesstimate would yield approx. 4 64-ounce bottles. I'm no expert, but it may also depend on the variety of grapes. I used big, plump, juicy grapes.
Will try to get a better grip on that next year.

Just curious, if it's so amazing why wouldn't you make it throughout the year?

Too much cost, time, and effort.
You surely know, there are lots of people who make foods at home for Pesach, that they would generally buy all year round...

yes....bbut usually when people say a pesach food is great, they usually mean it's great for pesach. Nobody I know makes potato starch based cakes year-round

There may be other examples dissimilar to the one you mentioned. One example I can think of off the top of my head: Some people love their homemade Pesach mayonnaise, but wouldn't make it all year round.

In any case, to me it's most important for Pesach, and if so I'd need to designate the juicer especially as so.
Additionally, to get grapes all year round would be prohibitively expensive - for the purpose of juicing.

Somehow Bingo has this insane deal on cases of grapes before Pesach, that makes it much more economically feasible to buy them for juicing.
I don't recall to have ever seen such a deal anywhere at any time during the year.

Well if you'd want to make wine you would have to do that in September at the time of harvest not pesach time

People use grapes that are grown for eating not wine grapes.
