I disagree, I think 80%++ of democrats are comfortable with the government not having a role in social questions at all, not prohibiting, not proactively accommodating, and not promoting It would be interesting to find out which one of us is right
Nah... A significant percentage for sure, but no where near 80%. I would put it at 40%. And maybe another 10% who would prefer the government is involved but wouldn't mind terribly if not.

Definitely a logical move. The GOP splinters and become obsolete. Democrats have a dilemma. Stay home and win elections indefinitely, or bail out to try a new party balloon
