PRG is $195, but PGGM makes that effectively $95.
I also thought so but
I like vanilla but my name is Venilla.

I guess the new fee didn't hit yet.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

Starwood AMEX - $95
Chase Sapphire - $95 -
Citi Honors - $90 - keep gold status

I switched to Chase Ink Plus to avoid the annual fee, but still get 5X up to 25K...

we do all those, but southwest is worthwhile for us to pay the AF. We both have personal and business and the CP helps, too. Makes it worth the fee.

You can cancel the cards and not lose the CP.

Right, and I'm saying the CP has nothing to do with decision of paying the AF on a SW card or not.

So basically what this thread has taught me is that Chase is getting all these AF and continued usage despite restricting users from churning their cards. If this model works so well, won't others follow?

Either you have it or you don't. Depends on the offer you signed up for.

Very interesting thread... Have always wondered myself.

I've only been playing since July 2013, and my first real rewards card was Dec. 2013 (that inquiry fell off a few days ago, yay!) so I haven't churned nearly as much as many of you. . This year was big for me so I'll be faced with The decision after the New Year. Some on the list include what I think I'll pay the AF on.

Card -- Annual Fee -- Rationale
CSP -- $95 -- haven't been able to open again bc 5/24, so need for transfer ability
Prestige -- $350 [citigold checking] -- with the $250 Credit, and anticipation of using the 4th night free benefit this will be a tough decision.  I also fly a lot of AA domestic awards and the lounge access makes flying a lot more comfortable.
Marriott -- 85?-- no the Cert isn't worth the AF but I have an award booking with points from two accounts. May need to keep open until I can transfer as they limit how many points you can transfer each year.

Here's how I see it. You can close in month 12 when fee hits and get one 6 months later and get the $250 again, so would you pay $350 for 6 months of lounge access and 4th night free? Lounge passes are about $10 bucks each on the forums. 4th night free is huge one and comes down to how hard you hit that in the 6 months.

I have an account with 90k pts; DW has one with 80k. Marriott lets you share points for a redemption OR starting in 2016, 50k a calendar year. Either way, I need to wait until my trip (March) and my AF will come in Feb.

Close the card after trip and get AF refunded.
