For what purpose. Year one, you are covered by canon, year 2 by amex

No, AmEx only doubles MFR warranty up to a year.

Although, if you are double covered and it breaks I think you can collect twice. FWIU FWIU this is not even unethical (had a similar case when a suitcase of mine broke and amex took return protection and then the company fixed it)

Then you only get 2 yrs total anyway, not really worth it. If you want to pay extra for warranty I'm sure you can get square trade for very similar price and longer warranty.

They don't officially cover accidental damage AFAIK.

Square trade warranties cost $39.99 and $53.00 for 2 and 3 years, respectively...

Again, both of these warranties (as opposed to AmEx) cover accidental damage.
