How can you compare the fact that the spurs make the playoffs every year, to the fact that the giants don't.
Basketball half the teams make the playoffs. baseball its around 20%
Don't be ridiculous, the point is they weren't good the other years.
The Spurs finished 5th, 1st, 4th, 1st, 2nd, 1st, 3rd, 2nd, 1st, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 7th, 1st, 1st, 2nd, and 1st in the Western Conference during the Tim Duncan era. If this were baseball, they'd have made the 15 of the 17 years (16 if you count the 5th place finish which is now a playoff berth in the MLB). Even if they hadn't won any championships it would have been a tremendous accomplishment, like the Braves run of division titles.
The Giants by contrast finished 14th, 12th, 5th, 2nd, 6th, 3rd, 9th, and 5th in the NL during the Bruce Bochy era. That means that even in basketball, they would have missed the playoffs almost half of the time. They never held the regular season league title, and only won their division in the other 2 championship years.
