My trip to Italy.
1st week of August. Flying into Rome (landing Friday) and spending Shabbos there. Flying out of Venice the next Sunday. Spending the 2nd Shabbos there.
Midweek:
Is it better to go south to Naples and Pompeii or work our way north? What is there to do in central Italy?
If I go south, (a) should I stay in Naples? Is there a shul there, food? (b) Travel north: by plane ( $23- $51 nonstop 1:15 travel time + to and from the airports), train ( $60 + 5 hours), rent a car and stop for sites along the way (as yet unpriced).
Rome- 1st Shabbos:
Which hotel is near davening? We’re looking at the Dem Guest House – kosher breakfast. Is it OK? What about Shabbos food? I can’t get a bottom line answer from all the information in the Rome wiki.
Venice – 2nd Shabbos:
Locanda del Ghetto – kosher breakfast. Chabad meals.
Any input and suggestions appreciated.
