How to keep hat/jacket in good condition in car

I store my hat and jacket in my car due to my schedule. Both are pretty old and pretty gross, but I don't want to spend money replacing them if I can't keep them in good shape. Anyone here have something that works for them?

A hat "drop" box.  I know this sounds crazy, but just the bottom part of a hat box will preserve the hat and you won't encounter the I-have-no-time-or-patience-to-put-it-away-neatly mentality.  If putting it upside down still triggers that mentality, you can remove the hat insert and just place (throw) it in the empty bottom half of the box.

Coat:  Try keeping a hanger on the door (ceiling) hook at all times.  You won't need to search for the hanger or spend the time trying to fit the hanger curved part over the door hook each time.

Thanks! I ordered the piece and might go shopping for a new jacket on Sunday. Not sure about the hat yet. A hat box is quite clunky to always have in your car.

I store mine in this, that way it wont get crushed by passengers in my car.
 mine is a few years old and it looks brand new, keeps it away from the sun and retains it shape.

again who wants a hatbox floating around there car, unless u have a 12 passenger van, and you always have ''pasengers'' then u have more than enough space for a hat box

 Yup you need a 15 pax Van or maybe a box truck to carry a Hatbox for the existing hat you already have lying around in your car.
