ratestogo.com has a discount code that gets you 20% off at ALL hotel bookings. Use GIVEME20

You will need to switch to AUD as currency first and then apply the code at checkout.
So use a FX free card.

Yes and no, as if you have a few nights already, then these nights will help to get the 10% on the other nights
