Any tricks to get away with extra lugage flying Jet Airways 9W ?

Hi,

Jet airways has different weight allowances depending on your departure country.

For example flying from NY means 23kg / 1 piece max for checked luggage.

As they are NOT part of an alliance, although they partner with multiple airlines, they will NOT honor their partners elite cards for extra luggage.

The charge now for an extra piece $100 and $20 per additional kilo.

Anyone any idea?

Here is something I have done twice. Last time I did it was 2-3 years ago so not sure if it will still work

I went from EWR to TLV on continental airlines. (yes, it was still called that then).

the agent would weigh my luggage, tag it, and then tell me to bring it to a different station (rather then to throw it on the belt behind them). At that point, my friend would be waiting with all my extra stuff (books and other heavy items) which i promptly put into the suitcase. 

I just don't remember how i got the stuff home.......

I don't know, I couldn't tell with so many hats and clothes on.

Here is something else I have done.

I bring two carry-on's. One with luggage and one with my carry-on stuff. When I get to the gate, I ask them to 'check' it. (Like they do with strollers). Again, haven't done this is 2-3 years so I am not sure if they will still do it.

When I say at the counter in EWR that my luggage is extremely fragile, do they tell me to bring it to a different place (after sticking the luggage tag/bar on it)?

When you do this, do they make you sign a disclaimer that they are not responsible if anything brakes?

The past 2 times I flew out or EWR (once United and one US Airways) they asked me to bring my bags over to the TSA screening center after weighing them. At that point you're free to add what ever you want
If you want to be even sneakier, I wonder if there's a way to print your own luggage tags and add bags at this point! (Okay, that's definitely not ethical)

Once I had a suitcase (#1) that they told me was too heavy. I took a bunch of stuff out, squeezed it into a bulging carry on and then had it reweighed. As they were busy weighing suitcase # 2 I had my wife reinsert everything into suitcase #1 and they didn't notice a thing!!

I went to 7-11 with my friend and while I paid for my slurpee, my friend stuffed some candy bars in his pockets.
