Not bad, but being an AU on UA Club also gets 2 free bags for free.

more complicated for typical kettle who cant/wont apply for cc's. And 3 bags * 2 is pretty nice.

You don't have to apply to be an AU on anyone's account.

There are uses for it, but at $400 it's not for everyone.

I know that, I meant to say this is anyways geared to someone who won't get his own cc

But DD is specifically geared towards people who will get their own cards (or getting people to that point) :D

I have a question that i somewhat related to this post. So I got the cheap tickets to Israel before our son was born (he was born two weeks ago) and I just called to change my flight to direct and add on the infant with the bassinet seat. Everything went smoothly until I asked about what I can bring in terms of luggage. So I was told we can each have one piece and the baby can have his own piece up to 10 kilos. I asked about a car seat/stroller (as I was under the impression we can bring those to the gate) and she said we would only be able to bring one of them, not both. Is there any way to get around this if the stroller we plan to bring is a snap n go (i.e. has no seat - the car seat is the seat)? She said that it would still be considered two separate pieces and we would have to pay 70 dollars for one of them and check it. Does anyone have any first hand info on this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You have nothing to worry about. At check in they ask you how many pieces your stroller collapses into and they give you tags for each part. A funny tidbit, my neighbor just flew aa from New York to London, at check in  they weighed her stroller and told her as it was to heavy she would have to check it in. She instead took off one of the seats and told them that it's now 2 pieces so they weighed them each separately and gave her 2 tags and sent her on her way. At the gate she asked them if they want her to take it apart as she has 2 tags for it because it was too heavy, and they just rolled their eyes and said leave it.

Oh one more thing. Would you recommend bringing the base? Maybe snapping it onto the car seat when its detached to make it easier to carry? Or do you think I dont need the base? Ive heard that its fine to drive without the base and that its just an extra safety precaution.

It's not for safety AFAIK.  Just for convenience so that you don't have to buckle and unbuckle every time, you just snap and go.
We used to bring the base but of late we haven't been.
