It seems like there is absolutely no affect on your credit report unless your specific bank does hard pulls for the account you created. Is it then fair to say that a 10,000 dollar bank account will not raise credit?
It's fair. Though it may raise your credit with the bank.

In some cases chase bankers will try to help you get a credit card if you have a big account with them.
So why do Credit card issuers ask if you have a checking/savings? I get a sense that it helps out, no?
So can you lie about the bank account just as you can lie about income?
you shouldn't lie about either one (legally, morally, etc.)
