any help would be appreciated
I don't know what cricuting is, and not sure if by remote login you mean regular consumer TeamViewer and LogMeIn, or windows pro servers etc. But here are some options which are, IMO, worth it at their respective current prices.

15 inch. Cheap, but decent computer. i3 8gb 128gb. Non touch. Plastic
Will work for regular work but not like video editing etc. Battery will be OK, but not better than that. $26 more for the 256gb version. FTR, the i5 version often drops to under $400

14 inch. Non touch. Ryzen 5 8gb 256. The graphics cards is entry level, but helps takes some strain off the regular ram. The listed weight on bestbuy.com is 4.84 lbs, but the actual weight is around 2.7lbs.

14 inch. Weird fabric cover on top. i5 8gb 512gb
Higher end build, good screen.
Micro center also has in in store only, the refurbished ideapad 5 pro. better because it has 16b ram. worse because refurbs are a hit or miss. A friend just purchased one, jury is still out if it's worth it.

$700
i5 16gb 512gb. Metal, decent specs. What you pay for here is an unatural weight and a large battery. It recently went down to $600 after a rebate in the form of $150 costco giftcard. $700 is still a decent price.
@AsherO care to comment?
