Two Sapphire preferred at the same time

I got a sp a few weeks ago and I am still getting offers in the mail offering me to sign up.  I was ignoring it but I finally called them today and they said sure no problem you can get a new card and 50,000 more miles.  Any reason not to go for it?

ya I told him, he asked his supervisor and came back and told me that I could get it it would just be a dif. number and account

Well I made the application after confirming with a customer service rep that I really will get the bonus and I was told that the app was under consideration.  I guess I'll have to wait and see.  I'll keep everyone posted iy"h

I just did a 3BM last week. One of them was a Chase Sapphire Preff. I got a letter in the mail saying that I was denied because I already have a Sapphire Preff.(which I do) and that I should call them within 14 days to clarify my situation. I did and told the rep. That I wanted another one to get another 50K UR. He told me I just needed to close my first one and than he would approve me for another one. He did everything for me within 5 min.

It's not going to work for me because I have only had my first Sapphire Preff. for a few weeks.  I still need to wait to get the points on it

I never said it's not great, I just think it's crazy a smart company will do such a stupid thing.

ok I got rejected for my second card.  I called recon and the lady rep explained to me that I was rejected because I have a card already.  I told her that I was pre-approved and she explained that I wasn't pre-approved for the card rather i was pre-aaproved for the offer.  She also justified it by saying that marketing takes place 3 months in advance.  (I know that Dan wrote on another thread that there is not really such a thing as pre-approved but I  thought this would go through.)
      I explained to her that customer service said i could get have two cards and her response was "all I can do is apologize".  I said how about honoring their commitment and she explained that there not part of the bank and  "all I can do is apologize"

She also insisted of course that even if i got the card I wouldn't get the bonus points since it's only for first time card holders.

I guess i should just give up and not pursue it any further - until it's time to do a proper churn.  She told me that b/c it was a duplicate app. there was no credit pull.  Do you think that that is correct?

It's possible, but it could have definitely resulted in another pull. Check your report to see.
