Lets not play these games. The CPI went down, period!!! We used it with the last admin, and we are going to use it for this admin.

With that being said the markets disagree with you. The main reason they hit an ALL TIME HIGH is because they feel a rate cut is coming. This does change with every new report.

Very high compared to what? When the economy was shut down and unemployment was through the roof?

That number is a bit misleading, because of the high inflation (about 10%) of the 70s and 80s. Excluding that it is closer to 2% which is the feds target.

If we take out the low years it would be higher than 4%. 
2% is like the perfect sweet spot. So compared to that I would not call 3.4% "very high".

The higher unemployment rate together with more actual jobs is a very good sign showing people returning to the workforce.
