i've heard people don't accept lubavitch shechita because they are concerned that the shochet can be a secret mishochist
So they're ignorant. There's more than enough halachic basis to be a meshichist as discussed in that thread.
But either way, then they'll go and eat or daven at a Chabad House when they travel.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I know of some. I also heard of a fairly large hechsher at which a well-respected rav wanted to fire the Lubavitch shochtim for this reason, but wasn't able to back up the halachic basis of his stance to the liking of his fellow rabanim.

Likely. Odds that they (their rebbe/rav) hated chabad before the 90's are high.

By mashiach talk do you mean that the Rebbe is mashiach or that mashiach is imminent? (I really am naive)

In some rare instances, it might not be. But consider

realistically someone who won't eat lubavitch schechita won't eat at a chabad house either

That you have people who don't eat Lubavitch shechitah at home, but then you meet them at a Chabad House where they tell anyone willing to listen how dangerous and blasphemous Chabadniks are in between bowlfuls of Lubavitch shechitah cholent.

Yes.

Though my fix was about the former.

I mean it's a wide spectrum of pepole that define as lubavitch, but the ones you see that protray themselves as frum, I'd say yes they are.
