Seems you are deflecting. If a couple is arrested in the US, and go to prison, where do their kids go? I don't see how that is loaded. It's a pretty fair question.
It is a strawman argument that has nothing to do with what we are talking.
Some of the immigrants are found to have not broken any laws and are allowed to stay here.

What would they have done if there was only one parent or if both parents were imprisoned?
Very interesting question, I was wondering the same, but was afraid to ask ;D

I'm not making an argument, just asking a simple question. Secondly, how did they get here? You are aware it is a crime to cross our border, even as a citizen, without going through the proper motions, right?

OI am not sure, but suspect that the children would first go to other family members such as aunts or uncles. The issue is that when someone crosses the border illegally they often (usually?) do not have other family here (at least legally) to place the children with.

You are trying to equate being arrested, convicted and set to prison with being arrested?

How about being arrested and held until trial?

It is something you will be arrested for. The courts will decide if it is a crime.

No, I am not, you are. I am asking you a simple question (5 times now) and you will not answer it because you have decided what I'm going to do with your answer. The funny thing is, if this was so different than that, why don't you just answer me with "they separate parents and kids" and then go on to tell me how the 2 cases are different?

Look the whole country was in an uproar over this. R's and D's alike condemned it.
Here on DDF no one has an issue with it (or are not speaking up). You might want to think about that.

Again, I'm not discussing the border. I'm asking you a simple and unrelated question you have yet to answer. You want to argue similarities or differences to the border situation? you're welcome to, but I'm not. I respect you, and am not trying to make this a personal attack, but I constantly read your arguments (as well as others) and you specifically call people out for dodging questions, I'd ask you afford me the same respect you demand.

I have an issue with it and I am pretty sure that I said so at the time, but you are conflating comments of those against paying them with those for separating them in the first place. "You didn't buy your wife a diamond necklace? Why did you beat her?"

Here is your original statement that started this. Your statement is wrong 99.9% of the time. Once you understand that we can move on. If you don't understand we don't separate kids from parents when they are arrested there is no point to discussing it any further.
If I commit a a crime that warrants my arrest, my children would be separated from me and sent to DCFS.

My BIL moved into his house a couple of years ago it was a new development , they all (those living on ground level) modified the porch wall to turn into a floor for suckos, a building inspector showed up and summoned those that opened the door to court (was in most cases the mothers) + the owner (most cases the husband or joint) being that many families needed the father and mother in court at the same time they brought along their children, the courthouse was very upset

Do you have kids?
I do. I can tell you, I would live through hell 10 times over before I ever would let them out of my sight. If I lived in Mexico, South America, etc I have no clue what I would do, and thankfully I don't have to worry about that for myself, but I would like to believe I would never do anything to jeopardize me and my wife being with my children.

You responded to my original question with "we do not separate in the US" I followed up with "so what do we do". That is where we are holding. You have decided I'm using a strawman argument, but I can't possibly because you never answered the question...

I believe you would not turn my answer into a "gotcha". You now know as well as I do the bottom feeders will jump all over it.

So to be fair which you are 99.9% of the time, ask your unrelated question in the random question thread or another thread since it is not related to this discussion. I will be happy to answer. Fair?

ETA: Ping me if decide to ask in another thread.

There is an issue with parents who cross the border illegally with children. There are no proper accommodations for children on such a scale in detention yet the parents need to remain detained. What should now be done with the children?

I understand your point, and don't disagree. May I suggest 2 more productive ways of proceeding next time? 1. Give the answer, and fight the following argument. OR 2. Speak out this above point prior to dodging the question (for good reason, I'll give you that) 5 times, as it will make it look a hell of a lot less like you're backed into a corner, and more like you are who you actually are ;D

Fair question and I don't have all the answers.
House them together? Release them and hope they appear for their court date?
