Just got off the JFK-AUH leg and am now sitting in EY's F lounge.

Just for now (because I have a massage scheduled in 5 mins):

I have never ever experienced such an amazing flight in my life. To sum it up:

It is the first time that I ever have looked at the “Flight Time Until Arrival” and was genuinely sad to see that the counter was going down, instead of up.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to shout out and I'll do my best to answer 'em.

Try EWR-SIN, Its kinda the same but wears off a little at around the 14 hour mark... ;)

Ha, I was just telling my wife about that route. Based on our experience on EY, I simply cannot fathom it wearing off... ever! :)

Heading out in a couple of weeks, would like to hear how you managed food wise... Also did you have a long wait before/after flights until transfer? I have a late night departure at 11:30pm with singapore..  Any ideas where I can spend a nice 6 hours until flight?

Also did you have any trouble bringing in meat or any other food items?  Tefilin? Bibles? lol

did you speak to the waldorf? The hilton used to serve the same meals i ordered from australia. As its the same chain, maybe they can arrange it for you...

Tefilin and Siddur were no problem by me. Dont take in any wine, every suitcase gets x rayed. Meat they might want to make sure its no pork, so make sure its labeled to be on the safe site.

My wait wasnt long, but that luck. There is nothing really to do there in these hours before your flight. Might be worth taking the ferry and getting a hotelroom in Male to freshen up and sit for a few hours by the pool or just spend some time in the disgusting lounge in MLE writing a trip report

We took grape juice and challah rolls. Worked splendidly. Also brought food in this.

Worked out wonderfully.

Also, no problem with tallis/tefillin/siddur. They x-rayed ours bags (that had meat in them) but were apparently unfazed.

@OP -- where is your 6 hour layover?

I used grape juice. But I didnt bring it in, as I had it added to my grocery order from the grocery store in australia. As it went straight to the resort I was allowed to order wines and had some nice israeli wines by my meal

They are very makpid on alcohol, so if you bring in grape juice they will most probably open the suitcase after seeing liquid. I wanted to avoid that, with all my kosher food and jewish stuff. at the end of the day its still a muslim country

Maybe AJK can chip in what he did
