I'm not buying that.  I have had infant fares jump and fall like an IsraelIs mood swing, fluctuating 100s of dollars

+1 i was quoted $385 and i paid 191 @ counter YMMV i doubt the fare went down flight was full to capacity (PHL-TLV before passover)

It goes by whose miles you used.

Sometimes the issuer will tell yup go directly to the airline your flying, which you would need to pay a fee.

Is the consensus, that the infant charges are based on the miles you use ? For example if u use AC miles to fly US, or Singapore ( where there is no YQ ) I will pay the flat AC fee, or will I pay 10% of fare per UA, and Singapore's policy ?

It usually goes by the ticketing carrier. Sometimes you can get the operating carrier to add an infant ticket though.
Some airlines, like AS, will not issue infant tickets.
As a general rule for the airlines that issue as 10% of revenue, they pull the fees out of a hat and you'll usually get a different amount every time you call so it's worth trying a few times to see if you can get a better price.

What happens if they quoted a better price previously? can you get them to honor it?
