I think it's likely this will get pulled early, but they're going to have a very hard time not honoring this as confirmed to @gleff for as long as the site mentions the offer.

Better be someone really high up in AA that confirmed this…

I think one of the biggest risks here is a devaluation and expediting the loss of award charts.
But even so, they can only devalue so much in a short period of time while remaining competitive.
