I have to say that I am the most loyal Hyatt customer ever.

But lately I have been noticing that many of the hotels that I'm trying to book with points do not have availability or they don't even have base points and it's just like suite awards .

I understand that hotels don't get paid as much for reward redemption, but this is totally killing the brand.

Maybe I got lucky over 2 years covid but honestly the lack of award availability is turning me off.

I'm not sure but it's very frustrating and what's doubly frustrating is that, When you search it shows hotels and awards, but it's not until that you actually click book now that it says it's not available from points

Can you point out where you’ve been having difficulty? Because Hyatt is definitely the most valuable point system, and they added a ton of great hotels in the past year. I’m happier than ever with the booking options, and the newer ability to find/book suites without calling.

I do understand that popular hotels that were bookable a few years ago are very hard to find now, but places like Cancun became much more popular and what can you realistically expect? And even still they added many great hotels in Cancun area that are good alternatives.

Right now it's properties in LA, some nights are not available with points etc

Some are only cash + points

It's just very frustrating when you search and it shows you what available with points and it's not until you actually go into book it that you see that it's not

It is also AI's in Cancun, Akumal and Cap Cana that I checked.
Hyatt's in Chicago and IN have them blocked for special events.
This is not isolated.

Same with San Diego. Checked for this week, most showed up no availability for points. First time I really checked with Hyatt so I thought that's their norm.

This is not the norm but this is a new thing at least for me. I have never seen this happen before so it's shocking because I consider the points worth more than money
