All of these things are amazing but don't change the statement Begin was trying to make.
Begin was saying we will stand strong as a nation and tackle threats with or without outside help.

Eden stood strong in the face of threats that would make many people fold. But she showed up, sang AY"C, and performed to a chorus of thousands of haters and those who would do her harm. She stood proud to be a Jew,

I think it’s obvious that you have no interest or intention of praising her lifestyle or Eurovision and only intended to focus on the hate aspect and to find the good in the way she stood with Jewish pride. We will have to disagree on a philosophical level on the propriety of giving any focus to what is essentially an extreme platform showcasing LGBTQ values whose Israeli participation is so at odds with what עם ישראל stands for.
And that's OK.

I prefer to take the Berditchiver's approach. She is such a T"S that she doesn't even know those things are not what Judaism stands for, and yet she stands up and sings Am Yisrael Chai and לא צריך מילים גדולות, רק תפילות in the face of a chorus of boos. Now that's a pintele yid shining through.

Is this your opinion, or a matter of fact, or something official? I never heard that before this thread mentioned it in the past few hours...

@CountValentine Did you know by enjoying Eurovision, you are supporting the LGBTQ agenda?

FWIU the winner broke Eurovision rules by smuggling a flag of his choice in, I read an article about him ranting that Eurovision is anti everything you say it represents, and I assume the winner knows more than someone who never watched the show before. Eurovision specifically did not allow the alphabet soup agenda of the day into the contest. That to me, sounds like you are misinformed about what Eurovision is...

This is just another talking point. I was going to correct it but ...
That is like saying The Voice or any other talent show is an extreme platform showcasing LGBTQ values.
What they don't do is discriminate. Are there LGBTQ performers, yes. Are there many of them on some of the shows, yes. Do they check if you are a card caring LGBTQ member, no.

ETA: I know Eden Golan is not a practicing Catholic, but I would be proud to have her represent the US. How someone can't be proud of the way she stood up against all the hate for every Jew and Isarel is beyond me.

Yes, this is all obvious from how I wrote it.

I didn't write the article to praise her, it was the shocking voting discrepancies and the admission by a jurist that it was fixed that made it worth posting, but the background was needed by then.

If there's a numbers gave I can dive into for discrepancies, whether it's an award chart, this, or an election I'm watching like this, I'll probably write about it if other sites aren't:: https://www.dansdeals.com/more/dans-commentary/breakdown-clevelands-jewish-community-denied-favored-squad-member-seat-congress/

Not everything needs to be written.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

People on the left yell anti-zionism isn't anti-semitism.

People on the right yell that pro-zionism isn't pro-semitism.

What a world.

And FWIW if Dan wrote proud Israeli 1. it wouldn't have been a play as much on Begin and 2. it would have received even MORE hate much more, saying that Dan is not just pro all jews but also pro zionism.

For shame @Dan being pro Jew openly. Sad!

@CountValentine Did you know by enjoying Eurovision, you are supporting the LGBTQ agenda?
It’s known in the LGBTQ community as the gay Christmas and is a major event on their calendar. A huge number of performers are trans or non binary ( including this years winner) and many of the other songs have themes pandering to that movement. It is decidedly an LGBTQ festival more than any other community or movement.

The feedback on Facebook, Instagram, and X for the post was overwhelmingly positive. DDF skews much more charedi and much less zionist (as in, should Jews be proud of the state of Israel and should it exist) than other platforms, so I'm not surprised.

A bit disappointed about the poor reading comprehension though.

Maybe this is another source of diverging views on the article.

You are in the know of the LGBTQ community's calendar and lingo, while Dan is not.

Makes more sense now.

"Out of 37 acts performing at Eurovision 2024, 8 are out and proud members of the LGBTQ+ community."

The way you describe it should have been the other way around. 8 out of 37 should have been straight and 29 should have been LGBTQ+.

I think her popularity skyrocketed towards the end. After these numbers were compiled. The odds of her winning definetly went up only after rehearsals

Actually, it might bring about pride to the State of Israel, while still causing pain to the Jewish people.
