So you got this hat specifically for travel purposes?
Is this good as a Shabbos hat as well?
Does it compare to a Borsalino? Or is it two different ballgames.
So I did in fact get it primarily for travel. So far, I am pretty impressed to see how it can fold nicely into a small circular tube and then with a little help of popping the hat back into shape it actually retains a nice crisp look. Honestly I would never have known it was folded inside a little tube. It looks like a regular hat, just with the branded P logo on the outside which is a giveaway for those who know that it's a foldable hat. ( though that company may make regular hats as well, so the p may just be that brand logo.)
Now 250 for such a hat is ok. It's definitely not cheap. But for a hat that looks great and functions like a regular borsalino hat that may cost $400. So 250 is fair. Though I'm tempted to try hatbox version for 209$. Love comparing products, especially that they have a $40+ difference. Why not save when you can.
Extremely convenient for travel. I can't belive I used to shlep my regular hat in a hard travel box on my carry-on handles throughout the airport. As is when traveling, the constant need to assemple the luggage when passing through security, removing your laptops and reassembling your suitcase. One less item to care for. And let alone when traveling with children. The less I have to shlep the merrier and easier it is to travel. So yes $250 is definitely worth it.
Bought it in days notice and I'm glad I bought it. I unfolded it once I got the my place I was staying and planned to use it. They say not to store it too long in the tube. So I'll be storing it in a box when I get home beH and pack it up/Roll it up when ready to travel.
Great for shabbos. That's why I got it. And M/M.
If you travel from time to time. Then get yourself one of these guys. Comes in 2 size brims.
