Anyone know how often SQ flights go from waitlist to available? Often as it gets closer to departure? rarely?

I've heard differing reports -- is it possible to hold SQ space using Krisflyer miles?

Are you allowed to go the other way back on a round trip flight with UA or AC? For example if I fly to SIN from NYC thru HKG can I fly back thru LHR?

For my dates, July 17 EWR to SIN the UA website shows I can get there thru China or Europe but for the way back on Aug 1 it only shows the Europe options if I choose the routing to SIN via Europe on the outbound. If I choose the HKG or PEK routing to SIN on the way there it does not show any availability to get back at all.

Maybe try booking and then call on phone to do a routing change. If it doesn't work, you can always cancel within 24 hours of booking.

Booked a flight on UA.com for Wife a fews days ago . OW BIZ A3 #A3880 ATH JFK via GVA LX 22 for 50K June 19th 2013

Now looking to put Mom in law on same flight and all I see is OW coach for 30K .
any way to see actual availability or predict if Biz will open up later ??

Anyone else have issues when trying to book a flight with us airways although it's showing available on ua.com (I called them and they said nothing they can do) is this a case of huca?
Any tips how to get those tickets?
