To bad this wasn't 20 years ago. The goalies would take care of the situation themselves.

As somebody mentioned before, the instigator rule lends itself to players taking liberties, whereas they would be thinking twice if they had to answer "to a higher authority."

Back OT. What you say about the games tonight? Going with Habs and Rangers. I know TB has their number but we will see what they are made of.

Subban's 2 handed chop was a very dirty play, worthy of a suspension.
Prust has always been more of a goon than a hockey player.

If you can drum up another 4 incidents where Subban was Kreideresque, I would investigate the matter to see if he falls into that category.

Though the maliciousness of the chop blows anything Krieder ever did into oblivion. I can show you 2 things Subban did that were dirty, from that same night.
http://youtu.be/87Zx8wiGKgk I would call this a Kreider-like recklessness, at least he was trying to play.
http://youtu.be/xxz4JplU2O4 Malicious chop on Stone

Then you have:
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Jmj2-0WcEwA dirty head shot
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9qVT7FYKEMM dirty punch to the face

So that's 3 malicious hits, and 1 reckless high stick.
Compared to 3 reckless plays by Kreider.

Before anyone even starts the Seabrook hit last year was an accident.

I wouldn't call it an accident, but watching the clip it looks like Backes bent his knees a split second before the hit, bringing his head lower.
He put himself in a vulnerable position, and it's unfortunate that he got hit so badly.
I wouldn't blame Seabrook for that.

Caps have a history of choking.
I would be shocked if they won tonight, unless Holtby plays unbelievable again (and doesn't get Kreidered  ;D )

Wow, TB fans are awful. It's deathly quiet in there. You'd think it was their team that is down 2-0.

It's like a morgue in there. If I was an NHLer, I would never sign in a market like that. Playoffs, up 2-0, and the fans are like that? Gotta be depressing.

Big difference between losing game 1 on a last second goal, and going down 3-0 on a last second goal.

Nope. Maybe they'll squeeze out a win in game 5 at home, but by game 6, it's done. (And I'm not just saying that because I'm bitter about the Habs. I'm just really impressed with the Caps.)
